Evolution

Evolution

A video about communication prohibition and a failed revolution. It’s a little like, well, the limitation which the Chinese government gave us Chinese people (like the Great FireWall of China). I just don’t know why these fossil administrators can’t understand that their dictatorship and obscurantism are behind the times. Youngsters of this high-speed-developing Chinese society can obviously see that their liberty of speech and rights to know this world objectively are all deprived by all these compelling and ridiculous policies. I do love China as my motherland but I’m really shamed because I am a citizen under such control.

The background music is extracted from “Disposable Teen” of Marilyn Manson. I made it with Macromedia Flash in 2004.

Streetball Free Style

Streetball Free Style

Streetball Free Style is a short movie but costed me 3 months to finish it – I wanna try a unique flash-animation-making method, which means entirely stop-motion flash animation (all frames are keyframes). The inspiration partly came from iPod Ads series.

Maybe those who have ever played the EA NBA Live Series will find that the movements and posture are very familiar. Well, somebody asked me how to make this – it looks very easy but dude, there’s no tricks. Here’s the workflow:

  1. Play some tricks in EA NBA Live 2004;
  2. Enter the “Replay” mode, adjust the camera then printscreen every frame and save as a JPEG;
  3. Open the Photoshop and adjust the size of every JPEG;
  4. Draw the outline of the player in Macromedia Flash then fill color;
  5. Also outline the ball, the playground and the backboard.

Each keyframe will cost me 20-30 minutes. So you see this is not very easy, it’s back-busting!!

Northland Life

Northland  Life

A video about life, birth and fear.

The background music is extracted from “Request Denied” of Hypocrisy which is a Swedish extreme metal band.

I made this when I was still in university, with Macromedia Flash 5 in 2002.
